Kanchan Ghadge has an architecture and planning background and is currently pursing a Masters in Environmental Studies in Planning at the University of Waterloo. She has worked as a Conservation Planner and was later involved with the Preparation of the Mumbai metropolitan Regional Plan. Kanchan started her career working with architectural and urban design firms in Mumbai, which sensitized her to the problems of laissez-faire development projects that largely neglect historical and cultural aspects due to lack of knowledge and uninformed decision making processes. In her current practice, she tries to evolve systems to cohesively involve conservation practices with contemporary development practices. She likes trying out new things and considers herself a life long learner.
